Acros Reverie – Fujifilm Acros for Nikon Zf (Free Lightroom Preset)

A Modern Nod to a Classic Film
Fujifilm Acros was one of those films that quietly earned a cult following. Its fine grain, rich blacks, and subtle tonal transitions made it a favorite for both portrait and landscape photographers.
When it was discontinued, I knew I’d miss it. So I set out to emulate the look digitally — starting with my Nikon Zf.
This preset, Acros Reverie, was developed using Zf RAW files to match the feel of Acros 100. It’s not a carbon copy, but rather a thoughtful translation. Smooth highlights, crisp detail, and just enough grain to feel real.
Why I Chose This Look
While Acros was never designed for digital use, it feels like a natural fit for the Nikon Zf’s monochrome-oriented soul. I wanted something that would render portraits with grace, and landscapes with quiet drama.
To test it, I paired a portrait of my kids taken under Sakura trees — one shot on film with a Nikon FE camera on Fujifilm Acros, the other on the Z6. The match was close enough to raise an eyebrow and a smile.

How to Use
Apply this preset to RAW files in Lightroom (Classic or CC). It was designed with Nikon Zf files in mind, but works well with other Z-series 24MP cameras like the Z6, Z5, and Zfc.
💡 Pro Tip: Shoot RAW + JPEG and use Monochrome Flat Picture Control on your Zf. This gives you a similar B&W preview in-camera while keeping full editing flexibility.
